At the end of 2023, a client in the "Yoga" niche (we are not revealing the client site for privacy reasons) contacted us and inquired about our link-building services. He runs a yoga studio that offers various courses, such as online yoga classes, teacher training, and retreats.
The website was well-designed, and the content was good, but they were lacking in the link-building part. The yoga industry is quite competitive; you cannot compete without solid link-building.
After client onboarding, we started the link building and built over 50 high authority links to home, commercial, and resources pages in the next 5 months (10 links per month approximately).
Our efforts started to pay off early in the third month, and organic traffic has been growing steadily since then. The site began ranking for commercial keywords in the top 3 positions.
We have also built links to resources (blog pages published around the money pages and industry stats) because no one wants to link your service or commercial pages.
The client's website had low visibility in search engines for important commercial keywords. During the research, we found that we have to compete not only with local yoga studios but also with big players in the industry, like BookRetreats and BookYogaRetreats. Competition was very tough for sure.
Our goal was to increase their organic traffic and improve their search engine rankings through strategic link-building.
Once we had an idea of the competition in the niche, we utilized the strategies below to build high-authority links that actually move the needle.
We reached out to thousands of high-authority sites in the yoga, wellness, and travel niches that have great numbers and are super relevant, and we built links to home and resource pages.
We build 75% of links from outreach, and this one was the quickest strategy to acquire high authority links.
During the research, we found a great opportunity to create a stats-related article that attracts a link on its own once ranked. We presented the idea to the content team, and they loved it.
It was ready within a week. We initially built 5 links to this page to boost it, and it worked. At the time we wrote this case study, it was ranked #1 for the targeted terms and attracted 116 links from 62 domains.
We used HARO (currently known as Connectively) to create unique home page links that competitors cannot replicate. We ran a HARO campaign for three months and built five very high-authority links to the homepage.
This boosted the website's overall authority and helped the commercial pages rank higher.
It took the first three months to see the results, but once they were taken off, they never went back and kept growing. The best part is that their commercial keywords rank in the top 5 and generate continuous leads.
Also, the website's Domain Authority doubled (from 23 to 49) significantly because the HARO and Linkable assets links were from very high authority sites.
